To accompany her decorative carvings to the capitals Katherine tried to keep as much of the original stone as possible. She used her restoration skills by applying lime and sand mortar where the new stone meets the old, shaping it into leaves. In the pictures below you will find it hard to see the mortar restoration as it blends in very well.
