Katherine Worthington

Stone Carver & Sculptor

Tate Britain, UK

Six Shooter Art Fair

On the 9th June 2012 my work was featured at the Tate Britain. I was commissioned to carve an alabaster sculpture of a horse's head by ATOI artists (Amy Thomas and Oliver Irvine).

I was also commissioned to carve a breeze block sign by Anarch Gallery as part of the installation. The work will then be permanently displayed at Anarch Gallery.

ATOI wanted the horse to be broken and imperfect, hence the glue on its neck, crack on the bottom of its nose and chipped ears. It also has a distorted quality.

For the breeze block carving Anarch Gallery wanted a raw, decayed and edgy piece.
