Katherine's letter carving portfolio led her to collaborate with Marianne Forrest and her public art - Time Piece. Katherine carved letters in Welsh and English on a circular bench in Sand stone. Katherine enjoyed advising and working with Marianne the artist. Katherine also hand delivered the heavy stones from London to Wales.

Katherine completed a 2 year diploma course at Weymouth College in letter carving, achieving a credit. This skill is applied extensively throughout her career and crosses over into her architectural stone carving. She has carved stone and brick walls, slate steps, sandstone benches and house names.

She also carves plaques and gravestones.
