(This was part of the re-ordering of the church interior which was winner of the Ecclesiastical Architects and Surveyors Presidents Award 2009 (for new work in churches). It was also runner up for The Georgian Award).
The Catholic Herald - “The judges were impressed with the bold re-ordering and the quality of the art and craftsmanship was exemplary".
2009 - Giffard House, Wolverhampton, WV1, UK
Katherine was involved in this project extensively. Providing the carving, sourcing, delivering and installing the stones, supplying and installing all features; wood and metal to accompany the marble suite.
The intricate carving consisted of an altar, ambo, tabernacle with shelf and credence table in Sicilian Lavagnia Marble. The tabernacle required the carving of a wooden interior, special installation of a lock and hinges to support the heavy marble doors, allowing them to open/close. A brass band was supplied and installed on the altar.
