2012 - Tate Britain (Six Shooter Art Fair)
Katherine was commissioned to carve a horses head in alabaster stone by Atoi artists and a signage for Anarch Gallery carved in breeze blocks. Both pieces were to represent decay and degredation. Katherine was asked to intentionally break the horses head off and glue it back on again to depict this.

With Katherine’s sculptures she is a free carver; she does not produce sketches or models but carves directly from her mind. This is a liberating process and free from limitations. She particularly enjoys carving alabaster as it is soft and quick to carve. It has a wide range of colours varying from white to brown, yellow, blue and pink. It is translucent in nature and can be polished like marble. She enjoys playing with its translucency by attacking and bruising the stone with her chisels creating a frosted or shattered glass effect. She likes to use the natural veining of the stone to depict that of the human flesh. Her figures are sensual and sometimes suggestive.
She enjoys carving flora and fauna, heavily influenced from her architectural stone carving of decorative leaves and abstract shapes.
She strives to engage the viewer interweaving many facets that interact to form a piece that must be seen from all sides. She has been told her sculptures are irresistible to touch.
She also repairs sculptures and statues .
Katherine welcomes bespoke commissions and enjoys working with clients to help realise their ideas.
She offers creative suggestions including design and discussions on materials, modelling, and discussions of stone types and techniques.
She is also happy to work from a given design.
